Please join us for this momentous occasion. PCC will be celebrating the opening of the newly constructed Campus Center, Bookstore and Industrial Technologies Building. We will also be breaking ground for the new Center for the Arts Building.

THE INDUSTRIALTECHNOLOGIES BUILDING • CAMPUS CENTER /BOOKSTORE CENTERFOR THEARTS

With the addition of the new

INDUSTRIALTECHNOLOGIESBUILDING, Pasadena City College greatly enhances its Electrical, Manufacturing, Automotive, Welding, Building Construction, Engineering Design (formally Welding), Electronic, and Engineering programs for decades into the future. All of the latest technologies are featured in order to make the learning experience relevant in the modern world.

The building has 15 new laboratories and classrooms, along with faculty and administrative offices, on two stories. The building measures 66,558 square feet.

The new

BOOKSTOREalmost doubles the size of the previous store. It is also a twostory building, with the bookstore occupying the entire first floor, along with about half of the second floor. The remainder of the second floor houses Police and Safety Services and Student Business Services. The total square footage is 20,000.

The new

CAMPUSCENTERgreatly improves Food Services on campus through the completion of a modern instructional and functional kitchen. The new servery and dining facilities provide students with an uptodate, inviting area to eat, study, and socialize. Wireless computer access will be present in all areas.

Associated Student Body offices and workrooms are key features, along with the Student Affairs offices. The Journalism Department will be able to better serve the needs of the students in its modern, secondfloor suite.

The

CENTER FORTHEARTS, the last of the new projects, will house the Visual Arts and Media Studies Division as well as the Performing and Communication Arts Division. With the full input from all the faculty and staff who will work in the building, the Center for the Arts will be the capstone of the Facilities Master Plan 2010. The design pays tribute to the best features of the existing buildings, while also drawing on strong artistic themes to properly express that this is PCC’s Center for the Arts.

In keeping with PCC’s longstanding commitment to being leaders in the areas of sustainability and energyefficiency, the project will be LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified. Current projections are that the building will exceed the "Certified" rating, and will reach at least the "Silver" rating.
